Simple, Quick & Easy Festival Up-Do (OSiS)

Hey girls,
Today I'm going to be showing you a really quick, easy and, in my opinion, pretty hairstyle for festivals. The main thing I've learnt from festivals is that you really don't want to spend that much time doing hair/make up as most of the time you're tired and damp due to the awful British 'summer' weather - so I adjusted this hairstyle accordingly. Some hairstyles I try and invent and end up looking like some sort of mad magician/inventor but I really like this look and think I will re-create it tomorrow hehe

I also tried to match this hairstyle to some festival make up and clothes to re-create the whole look - I hope you like it!

So ignore my nose looking strange in this shot, I was looking down to try to get the look in the shot!

The hairstyle is basically a high, scruffy bun (so really comfy?!) with a sweeping side quiff which then turns into a plait.

I did this by:
1) Sectioning my hair and putting it into a high ponytail. I then used a small sectioned amount and pushed it forward, creating the small 'quiff' effect.
2) I then plaited this diagonally so that the quiff had a 'sweeping' effect, and secured this with a clip (run out of bobbi pins AGAIN, I swear there's a little fairy that takes them at night!)
3) I used another hairband to make the ponytain into a bun, by wrapping the ponytail around in a circle.
4) Voila!

For the make-up I added waterproof mascara (needs to be waterproof with this weather! *sighs/slightly sobs*)  and then used a lip tint pen (review coming soon) to create a hot pink/fuschia lip. I added a little concealer and then was done - as I mentioned before, you really don't want to be transporting a lot of make up to a festival!

Et voila! The finished look with my new MissGuided sunglasses.

If I'd been able to use a #OSiS product, I would have used the OSiS Elastic (£9.75) as I feel it would have been perfect to give this look more staying power - after all, at a festival you'd need it, and what is a cool hairstyle without cool staying power?! And it also 'protects from outside influences' - perfect for the festivalgoer.

You can check out the Schwarzkopf Website for more information about the OSiS products.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this post & seeing my festival look

Hello to you all and welcome back to my blog!

Today I'm super super excited to announce my first ever giveaway! I spent ages looking round both boots and superdrug and in the end found something I hope you'll all be excited by!

The prize is....

.....the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover and a Vidal Sassoon Tangle Free Hot Air Styler!!

I hope you're happy with this and find it an exciting prize, it was so hard choosing it as I understood everyone would want different things.

The Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover has had so much 'hype' around it that I thought it would only be right to through a pot of it into the prize! I've never tried it so I've also bought myself a sneaky pot to review at a later date, but they've been literally sold out everywhere so when I spotted 2 pots in Boots I quite literally ran and grabbed them!

Also included in the prize is a Vidal Sassoon Tangle Free Hot Air Styler. This is perfect for putting volume into your hair, adding waves and curl and, the brand claims, is the UK's best selling hot air styler. I hope you like it :)

Just a few T&C's
- You must be over 18 to enter or have your parent/guardian 's permission to enter. This is because I will need your address if you win, so that I can post you your prize :)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

I hope you like it & if you do, please do enter! If I get no entries it will be a little embarrassing!

My Current Skincare Routine

L-R - Sudocrem
Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash*
No. 7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator (Normal/Oily)
Amie Morning Dew Matte-Finis Moisturiser*
Witch Oil Control Foaming Face Wash

Cleansers - I've recently re-discovered two cleansers which I love - the first being the Witch Oil Control Foaming Face Wash. This comes out as a light foam which you gently massage into your face then splash off. I have real combination skin that tends to be oily but can easily get dry if I use too many products that 'strip' the natural oils from it - it's a precarious balance! However, the Witch cleanser really does stabilise the balance when my skins very oily - especially on my nose - therefore I use this as my morning cleanser. However when I feel my skin needs a bit of moisturising or pampering, especially at the end of the day to take off make up, I use the Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash. Despite the name (Morning) I use this at night as it really helps to take my make up off and leave my skin feeling smooth and clear. It has a lovely smell to it and has a creamy consistency - although a bit more fluid than the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. Amie is not a brand I see a lot of hype around on beauty blogs but I really think it deserves more credit - I'll have a full post coming on their products soon as I love them!

Exfoliators - At the moment I'm using a No. 7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator for Normal to Oily Skin. The little granules (?) in it are tiny and it does feel like it's working. I only got this recently as I was desperately in need of an exfoliator but I think I'll try another soon as I'm not too sure about this - if you've ever tried it please let me know your thoughts below - I'd be really interested to read them. I will say, however, that I've tried the Amie exfoliator in the past, and loved it - so it may be worth checking that one out if you want to try a new one! (Happy now as I just reminded myself that I liked that!)

Moisturisers- I basically cannot rave about the Amie Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser enough.
It is perfect for getting that soft, supple skin you want and provides an amazing base for make up. Tralalalalalalaa laarve it! (Blog Post coming soon)

Spot Treatments -  very simply, Sudocrem! Works wonders, although I have noticed that a thin layer rather than a smothering (strange word!) often works better.

Hope you've enjoyed and let me know your comments/recommendations for skincare below.

Review: Pretty Quik Instant Nail Polish Remover

Hey Girls!
As you probably know, the new Bourjois nail polish remover has been getting loads of great reviews recently. However, it is quite expensive and they have been selling out everywhere recently so I decided to go on a little hunt to find a similar product - and I found one!

So as you can see, it's smaller than the Bourjois version, but is still very good. It has the same interior - a sponge soaked in nail polish remover that you 'dip and twist' your nail into.

A gage on the height of the product

Overall I'm really pleased with this product. It really does remove my polish in one second, just dip and twist once, quickly, and it's removed. Yay! It even removed basecoat, 2 layers of an Essie polish and a crackle polish in about 2 seconds.
The only downside to this product is the smell - I've heard the Bourjois one smells nice - whereas this, although not unpleasant, smells like any old nail polish remover.

You can buy this here for £2.50 - which I think is brilliant value. If the sponge dries out a little, simply give it a shake! Of course this is smaller than the Bourjois product, but sponges can dry out so I'd personally rather buy a smaller, cheaper one that I wouldn't feel guilty about re-purchasing more often!

Have you tried this product? Do you disagree with this review? Will you try this product now? Have any post requests? Leave me a comment below, and include your blog url if you have one as I love discovering new blogs!

NOTD: Models Own 'Lilac Dream'

Morning Girls! Just a quick post today - I bought this nail polish with a 'Buy One, Get One Half Price' offer on in Boots at the moment across all Models Own products.
My nails have been breaking a bit recently, hence the bad quality of the nail itself! Also, not a gross substance in the middle of my hand, tis a freckle!
I'm so pleased with this polish. It's the perfect summery pastel lilac colour, is flattering. It's lasted well throughout the 24 hours it's been on - the hole shaped mark shown in the picture is due to me bashing it on the zip of my chinos before it was dry, so my fault - but since it has chipped on one nail. It's probably to be expected though, as I have been pretty rushed today!

This applied like a dream - I really love the brush for some reason, it seems thinner and seems to apply the polish more evenly. It also dried quickly - big thumbs up! I applied two coats (the second one was rather thin) to achieve this 'look'.

Overall I love this polish and am looking forward to wearing it through the summer.

Do you have a staple nail colour you keep going back to? Have you tried this polish before? Do you think you will now? Let me know in the comments below!

Don't forget to follow if you've enjoyed this post!
