What do YOU want?!

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I'd do a bit of a different post today. Self-esteem and anxiety have always been a bit of a problem in my life - I tend to doubt myself, worry too much and constantly think I can't do things.

It may sound silly, but inspirational songs, quotes, pictures etc tend to make me motivated to achieve what I want from life and generally do things!

So I thought I'd document a few of these, to inspire any of you lovely readers that feel today you need a bit of motivation, and also so that in the future I can return to this post and re-discover a good song, quote, picture, video etc.

So today's video is Bastille: Flaws (Live from Abbey Road). I have absolutely fallen in love with this song! Heres the video off youtube (please scroll down once you've finished watching it!)

I hope you've enjoyed this little post - sorry it's not very beauty/fashion related - but I thought it might be nice for you all to know a little bit more about me/my life!

Now, what is YOUR favourite inspirational song, picture, quote, video - or just one that you absolutely love? Please leave it in the comments below, and don't forget to leave your blog link or you tube too (if you have one!) so that I can check it out! If you've enjoyed this post, please follow, each time my follower count goes up it makes me smile. Feel free to check out my other posts - a bit more fashion and beauty related!

Happy Tuesday! Just 3 more days until the weekend! (Not that I'm counting or anything)

A Day in Cambridge

Hello All,

On Monday I travelled to Cambridge for a daytrip. This was partly because I've never been before and partly to look round the university, but I thought I'd share some photos from the day with you all so that if anyone reading this is going in the future, they may have some ideas of where is nice to visit.

I simply had to take a picture of this groovy bicycle - how cool is the basket? Just shows what a bit of imagination can do.

Everywhere you went there was a beautiful building (example being this one).

This is one spot I suggest anyone who visits Cambridge goes to. This is the Bridge of Sighs, which is owned by St John's College. It is a beautiful spot as to the left of this picture is parkland, whilst to the right is the amazing St John's College. The Bridge goes over the River Cam, and whilst you stand on a different bridge to view the Bridge of Sighs, punting boats go past and you see students walk over the bridge. It's all very Cambridge and picturesque!

This is part of St. John's College. We walked through both St. John's and Magdalen (Magdalen was free whilst St. John's was a small fee). However despite this fee, it was totally worth it. Once inside the courts of the college, you really feel part of the student-vibe, and the architecture is amazingly beautiful.

Pleased with my outfit (although my shoes got very muddy?!)

These shops were close to the Magdalen Bridge - I just had to take photos as I love their rustic shabby-chic exterior. This is also close to the greengrocers/newsagents shop my great aunt worked in :-)

I found them! Finally, Twizzlers, and at just £1.99 (cheap compared to other shops). What do they taste like? The scents of smelly gel pens. So yeah, they didn't taste that great but...oh well. Still fun to try them!

Finally, here is the market. This is close to King's College and the big shopping centre in the centre of town (really recommend - MAC, Topshop, LUSH, John Lewis etc). This is such a cute little market place with lots of stalls to wander through - and close is the best Cath Kidston shop ever - I could have easily spent lots of money I don't have in there!

I hope this post has been fun to scroll through - not very beauty/lifestyle related but oh well!

Fashion Inspirations #3

Hello Lovelies,

If you follow me on twitter then you may know that I've been wanting to expand my blog from beauty to both beauty and fashion. Although I love blogging about products, and will continue to do so, I feel it's a good challenge to venture into unknown territory and do some OOTDs and Collection videos (as well as hauls....)

Whilst I'm shopping around and updating my wardrobe ready for the autumn (my bank is going to hate me...) I thought I'd share with you some of my fashion inspirations that I look up to.

Throughout doing these posts I've actually realised I don't have many fashion inspirations! I tend to take little snippets of style from lots of different people, so today will be the last post in this series!

Click here to see yesterdays fashion inspiration, but todays is:

3) Fashion Bloggers

Yes. I get a lot of inspiration from seeing other people's outfits on their blogs, and so I thought I'd share a few of them with you.

The first is Amy from The Little Magpie. I absolutely love her style and her attitude towards fashion - she always manages to put together an outfit that is really wearable yet includes edgy, on-trend pieces. I really look up to her in the blogging world, so make sure you follow her if you don't already.
I'm hoping she doesn't mind me using a photo from her blog here, Amy if you do, tweet me @rosereviews and I'll remove it x

Next is Olivia from What Olivia Did... . I absolutely love Olivia's blog and style - in my opinion it is vintage chic meets modern glam. Her blog is always interesting to read and I take a lot of inspiration from it..I can't recommend her blog enough!
Olivia from What Olivia Did...
Last, but by no means least (did I mention that, of course, these are in no particular order?) is Lily from LLYMLRS. I absolutely love her style, attitude, writing style basically everything. One of the most established fashion bloggers out there, you're craaazy if you don't follow her.

I hope you've enjoyed this post & my mini fashion inspiration series. Feel free to link any of your favourite fashion bloggers below!

Promise I'll post again soon!

Fashion Inspirations #2

Hello Lovelies,

If you follow me on twitter then you may know that I've been wanting to expand my blog from beauty to both beauty and fashion. Although I love blogging about products, and will continue to do so, I feel it's a good challenge to venture into unknown territory and do some OOTDs and Collection videos (as well as hauls....)

Whilst I'm shopping around and updating my wardrobe ready for the autumn (my bank is going to hate me...) I thought I'd share with you some of my fashion inspirations that I look up to.

Click here to see yesterdays fashion inspiration, but todays is:

Olivia Palermo

Olivia is one of those people that whenever my Mum and I open up Vogue or a report/article from a fashion week, we both immediately say 'Wow, I love her outfit' or 'She looks stunning',  She often goes for a classic look (eg. top left picture) and her beauty and style looks effortless yet elegant and feminine. But, she's not afraid to mix in some edgy pieces, and I love her accessories. (I also want her hair).

What do you think of the looks pictured above?
Who are your fashion inspirations?

Back tomorrow with my 3rd fashion inspiration. I really hope you're liking my fashion posts!

*Insert Mean Girls Quote Here* OOTD

Hello Hello,

I was going to title this post 'Cough, Cough, I'm Sick...Boo You _____' but as it includes a naughty word I'm obviously not going to, instead opting for the more mainstream insert mean girls quote here. Adapt it as you will (what's your favourite mean girls quote?)

Well this is my first proper OOTD and guess what....I'm ill. I have a horrible winter cold, the most annoying part being (apart from not being able to sing) is that my skin that was looking actually OK last week, has now gone back to how it was - red and not liking the cold weather at all.

Despite this I decided to bare my gross appearance to the world and do an OOTD. Anyone who knows me will also know that I am the least indie person in the world. Therefore I apologise if you're bored by this OOTD, feel free to click that little x and exit this page.

Blouse - Urban Outfitters
Jumper - LK Bennett
Chinos - Topshop
Shoes - Topshop

I've also just realised how small I look in this photo. I mean, I'm petite, but I'm no thimble. However on the fashion side, I absolutely love love love my Urban Outfitters blouse. It is so comfy and versatile, the only downside being it is quite sheer, so I find it's best to wear a thin top ( I have one from American Vintage that I love) or a bandeau top underneath. My LK Bennett jumper is also comfy and warm - perfect for winter - and I love pairing them together for days when I'm just going to be working or studying but don't want to be wearing pyjamas or tracksuit bottoms. My chinos have been worn virtually non-stop throughout the summer (eurgh British weather), but I love that they upgrade a casual outfit to smart-casual, and (despite what this photo may prove), I've always found them to be quite slimming on the legs. Lastly, my Topshop spiked shoes, probably my best post - exams purchase. These studded pumps have been worn day-in, day-out, but I love them still.

Animal ring (right hand side) - Primark
Mouse Ring (left hand side ) - Kukee

I've had this ring from Primark (cheetah? jaguar?) for a few years now, but it's a firm favourite as it actually stays on! I also love my mouse ring from Kukee - it's so pretty and girly, yet edgy, and is easy to wear as the golden-colour goes with so much in my wardrobe!

I hope you've enjoyed this quick OOTD, please post any comments you have below.

Fashion Inspirations #1

Hello Lovelies,

If you follow me on twitter then you may know that I've been wanting to expand my blog from beauty to both beauty and fashion. Although I love blogging about products, and will continue to do so, I feel it's a good challenge to venture into unknown territory and do some OOTDs and Collection videos (as well as hauls....)

Whilst I'm shopping around and updating my wardrobe ready for the autumn (my bank is going to hate me...) I thought I'd share with you some of my fashion inspirations that I look up to.

Therefore I thought I'd do a mini-series of my fashion icons/inspirations, starting with:

Clemence Poesy

Clémence Poésy was probably my first ever fashion icon. I still have a little book I had aged (roughly) 11, where I stuck cut-outs from Vogue and Elle. Most pages, coincidentally, ended up being filled with outfits, and Clémence's featured reguarly. I think the photos I've put in above are great examples or her amazing style (as well as beauty). Clémence always seems so elegant, classy and ladylike - a great contrast to many young women on the front of magazines and newspapers these days - making her a great role model too. Of course, she is also an amazing actress, and as an (aspiring) actress myself, I look up to her in that field also.

What do you think of the looks pictured above?
Who are your fashion inspirations?
Let me know in the comments below!

I'll be back tomorrow with my second fashion inspiration.

September Favourites

The other day I sat down to film my second youtube video for you all - and discovered I had had a breakout the size of a small country on my face. Attractive, right? Determined not to let my skin get the better of me - I decided to do just shots of the products with a voiceover. I hope its OK!
